President-elect Donald Trump's second inauguration could become the most militarized in U.S. history, according to a report released Monday. U.S. national security agencies have warned that Trump's inauguration will be an "attractive potential target for violent extremists," even though there are no specific credible threats at this time. Potential criminals, especially those with "election-related grievances," may see the president-elect's swearing-in as "the last chance to influence the outcome of the election through violence," a group of intelligence and law enforcement agencies wrote in a threat assessment that has not yet been made public. According to the Daily Telegraph, citing U.S. officials, nearly 7,800 soldiers will patrol Washington, D.C., along with about the same number of police officers to ensure a "peaceful transfer of power." The newspaper also revealed that two FBI field offices, a large number of drones and at least 30 miles of fencing will be used to protect Trump and guests attending the inauguration from a range of potential violent threats, including leaders from around the world and senior lawmakers from across the United States.
