Wyoming Bitcoin company Bison Blockchain will receive $4.1 million in damages as a result of its 20-month lawsuit against a Chinese-owned cryptocurrency mining farm. In May, President Biden and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CIFIUS) ordered the mine to be closed and sold.
Bison Blockchain reached a litigation settlement with a group of Chinese cryptocurrency companies in October, forcing the company to exit the crypto mining farm located 1.3 miles away from F.E. Warren Air Force Base and across from the Microsoft factory in Cheyenne. It was because of its proximity to the military base that Biden ordered the crypto mining farm to be closed, citing national security risks.
In November, the U.S. Treasury Department took action to restrict foreign crypto mining companies and other companies from setting up factories near sensitive locations. (Cowboystatedaily)
