Bitcoin mining company DMG Blockchain Solutions Inc. announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Malahat Nation to develop a total of 30 megawatts of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, equally divided between the two parties.
DMG plans to develop part of its AI infrastructure at its Christina Lake facility, while Malahat will focus on expanding its infrastructure on its land on Vancouver Island. Both parties are committed to using clean energy in British Columbia, in line with the province's sustainable development goals.
The project will be managed through a general partnership led by DMG. Under the definitive agreement signed by the two parties, the partnership plans to obtain electricity for the Malahat portion and future expansion phases from BC Hydro. DMG will be responsible for the development, management and operation of the two data centers, designed to meet the processing elasticity needs of future customer projects. (GlobeNewswire)
