Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has announced a new initiative to increase mainstream adoption of digital public goods by businesses and consumers, in line with Japan's digitalization plan. The initiative, called "Demonstration Project for Building Digital Public Goods Using Web 3.0 and Blockchain," aims to develop novel use cases for blockchain in Japan.
Led by METI, the initiative has attracted several industry leaders including PwC, Rakuten, and NTT Digital to join the pilot study. (Coingeek)
