MakerDAO co-founder Rune Christensen warned that the EU's specific interpretation of the MiCA regulation could lead to a disruption in DeFi development.
Christensen said that there are reports that Europe's financial regulator may require every DeFi frontend in the region to register and operate under a license. He is worried about the impact this decision may have, saying that "it will make DeFi frontends based on ordinary Internet domains unviable."
In addition, Christensen elaborated that only decentralized or locally downloaded frontends will be able to operate, as well as frontends that adopt KYC measures and procedures. (Bitcoin.com)
