According to The Block, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) filed fraud charges against Cryptobontix, Arbitrade and some executives, accusing them of improperly profiting by pumping and selling DIG tokens. Between May 2018 and January 2019, Cryptobontix made false announcements that Arbitrade had bought $10 billion in gold and planned to back its DIG token with a gold peg, the regulator said. In fact, Arbitrade did not buy gold, and Cryptobontix raised the price of DIG through this announcement and sold it, making a profit of 36.8 million US dollars. The SEC and OSC are seeking court orders in their respective jurisdictions to stop the businesses, order them to repay the defrauded funds, bar executives and companies from holding similar positions, and pay fines. the
