Korean supermarket chain Emart: A new generation of ATM machines may provide cryptocurrency and STO transaction functions

Emart, South Korea's largest retailer and supermarket chain, said that its new generation of ATMs may soon have cryptocurrency and STO transaction capabilities. Emart's convenience store brand Emart24 has installed new "digital ATM machines" at its branches in Myeongdong and Samcheong-gu, Seoul. These machines are mainly targeted at overseas tourists and have foreign currency exchange functions. Lee Jong-wan, head of Emart24’s service platform division, explained that the ATM’s two-factor authentication (2FA) feature means the company has the possibility to expand its services in the future to include cryptocurrency trading and STO trading options.
