Coinbase tells some customers it has received a subpoena related to Bybit and may be required to submit account information to the CFTC

Coinbase has informed some users that it has received a subpoena from U.S. regulators involving cryptocurrency exchange Bybit, according to an email sent by the exchange and posted on social media. According to The Block, a person familiar with the matter confirmed the authenticity of the emails in a message sent to The Block. The email reads: “No action is required on your part until November 30, 2023, but Coinbase may respond to the subpoena if a motion to quash or other objection to the subpoena is filed with the court before that date - This includes sending information about your Coinbase account to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)." The CFTC did not respond to a request for comment, and Bybit declined to comment. (The Block)
