U.S. Senate lawmakers call on the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to withdraw the judicial interpretation supporting the banking industry's entry into the field of cryptocurrency

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren is calling on the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to withdraw a judicial interpretation supporting Wall Street’s foray into the cryptocurrency space that paved the way for banks to provide customers with services such as cryptocurrency custody, Bloomberg reported. In her letter, Elizabeth Warren called on the OCC to work with the Federal Reserve and the FDIC to replace them in a manner that "adequately protects consumers and the safety and soundness of banking operations."
