MakerDAO governance voted in favor of adding GNO tokens as collateral for DAI, will vote again after evaluation

MakerDAO governance voted in favor of a proposal to add the GnosisDAO (GNO) token as new collateral for the DAI stablecoin, with 77% support. But the core unit will conduct a risk, technical and oracle assessment of GNO. These evaluations will be followed by another vote in which Maker token holders and delegates will decide whether to deploy GNO as a new collateral type on the Maker protocol. Once approved, users will be able to deposit GNO in the Maker protocol and use it to mint DAI. At the same time, GnosisDAO plans to use GNO in its $972 million treasury as collateral to mint 30 million DAI to promote the development of Gnosis Chain.
