SC Ventures, the investment and innovation arm of Standard Chartered Bank, has launched a tokenization platform called Libeara.
SC Ventures said on Tuesday Libeara was incubated as an independent company and will be headquartered in Singapore. It previously served as a finalist in the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Global Retail CBDC Challenge and served as the digital platform prototype behind the team that conducted proof-of-concept projects with the Hong Kong government, Ghana and the Philippines.
Alex Manson, principal at SC Ventures, said in a statement: “Libeara is an exciting new venture: tokenization will allow many asset classes to be more widely used. As we now have institutional-grade digital asset custody and exchange services such as Zodia Custody and Zodia Markets, so Libeara is the next logical step to better serve our customers." (The Block)
