Japan's Ministry of Finance plans to increase staff participation in CBDC issuance

According to a document obtained by the media, the Ministry of Finance of Japan plans to increase personnel to participate in the issuance of central bank digital currency (CBDC), Jinshi reported. The document shows Treasury will request funding for additional staff in next financial year's budget. The move would be the second year in a row of increases, underscoring the Japanese government's growing focus on laying the groundwork for the country to issue a CBDC.
