Afghanistan Has Shut Down At Least 16 Crypto Exchanges and Arrested Crypto Operators

According to Blockworks, at least 16 cryptocurrency exchanges have been shut down in Herat province in western Afghanistan. Sayed Shah Sa'adat, head of the police's anti-crime department, said that the Central Bank of Afghanistan banned encrypted transactions because the practice has spawned problems and scams. People involved in local crypto businesses were arrested and their businesses were shut down".
