The UK Treasury tweeted that amendments to the Crypto Services and Markets Act (FSMA), which are expected to come into force later this year, will enable the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to comply with the existing rules set out in the Financial Services and Markets Act. There are promotional laws regulating crypto companies, designed to allow the UK government to try to protect consumers from "misleading promotions of crypto assets." The legislation includes a limited-time exemption for crypto firms, allowing those registered with the FCA to publish their own advertisements, and the amendment will soon be discussed in the U.K. Parliament.
