zkSync: The zkSync Era execution delay safety mechanism will allow enough time to detect problems and react in a timely manner

zkSync introduces one of the zkSync Era's multi-layered security mechanisms, Execution Delay, Execution Delay means that every L2 block submitted to L1 will have a time lock before it is executed and finalized, initially this delay will be 24 hours , as the system matures, this delay will gradually decrease until the Alpha stage is removed, at which point the delay will be completely removed. The delay is primarily to ensure that the team has enough time to verify the impact of transactions included in a block before it becomes final, and to allow enough time to detect bugs, investigate, and freeze the protocol through governance. Foresight News previously reported that zkSync announced the launch of the Fair Onboarding Alpha mainnet in mid-February. At this stage, the mainnet remains closed to end users, and registered projects can deploy and test applications in a closed environment before the system is opened to external users. At the same time, zkSync 2.0 was renamed to zkSync Era, and zkSync 1.0 was renamed to zkSync Lite. According to the zkSync Era roadmap, the next milestone is the public release of zkSync Era.
