According to Blockworks citing sources, the NFTs that Amazon will launch will be linked to physical objects, and customers will have the opportunity to purchase NFTs for home delivery. As for the launch time of the Amazon NFT platform, The Big Whale previously reported that the date was April 24, but the release time seems to be still changing. An Amazon spokesperson declined to comment. Two sources said that it will be launched by May this year at the latest. Sources said the company plans to notify all U.S. Prime subscribers, of which Amazon currently has about 167 million, Prime subscribers, before or when the product goes live. Amazon’s intention is to create some type of private blockchain, multiple sources said, adding that it’s unclear if this could be achieved through a fork of the existing protocol. Several sources said that, to the best of their knowledge, it was uncertain whether the Amazon token would be part of the deal.
