South Korean National Taxation Agency conducts tax investigation on Youtuber suspected of using virtual currency and other forms of tax evasion

According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korea’s National Tax Service conducted tax investigations on artists, athletes, and Youtubers suspected of tax evasion. A total of 84 people were investigated, and the tax evasion amount was close to 10 billion won (about 7.92 million US dollars). These include a Youtuber who promotes a virtual asset exchange, induces fans to join and collects virtual asset handling fees from recommenders, thereby omitting tax declarations; another Youtuber embezzles billions of won in the form of virtual currency from the sales revenue of his video lectures, And established more than 10 business consulting companies in the name of employees, and received fake tax calculations in the name of entrusted management labor fees.
