Bitcoin mining difficulty has remained below its all-time high for 374 consecutive days, setting a record for the longest such period in the network’s history. According to Odaily, the stretch exceeds the 364 days after the 2011 market crash and the 253 days following China’s 2021 mining ban.
Economist Saifedean Ammous said neither the 95% Bitcoin price decline in 2011 nor China’s mining ban in 2021 led to a longer period of low mining difficulty. The metric fell to 124.93T in mid-June 2026, about 20% below its 155.97T peak, recorded on October 29, 2025, before recovering to 148.36T in October. Mempool.space estimates the next difficulty adjustment will occur around November 13 and could bring a decline of about 3.7%.
