Nasdaq-listed Solana treasury firm Solana Company plans to expand its Hong Kong team from fewer than 10 employees to as many as 30 as it grows its tokenization business.
According to Foresight News, Chairman and CEO Joseph Chee told the South China Morning Post that the company aims to expand in Hong Kong to meet rising demand for tokenization. Chee said the United States is progressing “much faster” in the field, while many large Hong Kong financial institutions are only beginning to consider or launch tokenization projects.
The company expects to assess the Hong Kong market in about six months. If no large-scale tokenization service provider has emerged by then, it may build its own team to serve local banks. Last month, Hong Kong’s Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises designated Solana Company as a strategic enterprise. Its Hong Kong operation also serves as the company’s new Asia-Pacific headquarters, focused on digital asset infrastructure and services.
