Bittensor has launched a quantum-resistant wallet with support for post-quantum signatures and optional automatic key rotation. According to Foresight News, the wallet supports ML-DSA-65, Falcon-512 and Falcon-1024; ML-DSA-65 has been standardized by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). It works with both coldkeys and hotkeys for TAO transfers, staking and validator weight settings.
The optional key-rotation feature switches to a new signing key after a user-signed transaction is recorded on-chain. The old key can no longer authorize transactions for the account, while its address, balance and staking remain unchanged; users do not need to replace their recovery phrase each time. Wallets without key rotation enabled require no registration. Enabling rotation requires registration and a one-time, permanent lock of 0.2 TAO.
Existing wallets can still be used. Users can move funds and staking to a new account through a transfer or coldkey swap.
