Mastercard Secures Two Patents for Crypto Transfer Risk Checks and Privacy

According to ChainCatcher citing Digital Asset, Mastercard has secured two U.S. patents designed to assess money-laundering risks before cryptocurrency transfers and approve transactions without exposing their details externally. U.S. Patent and Trademark Office records show the patents were granted on November 3. One technology analyzes a recipient’s transaction history before a transfer and estimates how much the transaction could raise the sender’s risk score, helping the user decide whether to proceed. The other processes transactions on a private network of authorized nodes, where a central system verifies balances and decides whether to approve them, protecting privacy and preventing double-spending.
