GMX DAO Vote Proposes Transferring About $7 Million in Assets to POL Multisig for Emergency Reserve

GMX DAO is voting on a proposal to transfer about $7 million in treasury assets to a GMX POL multisig as an emergency market-making reserve. According to Foresight News, the proposal, titled “GMX Market-Making Fund Phase Two: Emergency Reserve,” is live on Tally and seeks the second allocation for a $10 million GMX token market-making fund. GMX has encouraged token holders to vote or delegate their voting power to active representatives. The proposal would transfer WETH, WBTC, Wrapped SOL, LINK, USDC, GMX, ARB, AAVE, UNI, and PEPE from the DAO treasury in their original forms to a 4-of-7 GMX POL multisig on Arbitrum One. The assets’ market value will fluctuate, so the reserve is not a fixed $7 million. Voting began November 6 at 15:14 and ends November 11 at 15:14. The transfer would not increase the fund’s $10 million total or authorize immediate use of the assets. The reserve would be used only if a severe market downturn affects GMX liquidity, allowing a response without another DAO vote. The first phase provided 3 million USDC. GM Labs said its assessment found that deployed funds are improving GMX liquidity and market activity. GMX published an earlier governance proposal on September 16 to allocate $10 million from its treasury to establish the market-making fund.
