AI TRENDS | OpenAI Launches GPT-6 Cyber, Outperforming GPT-6 Astra in Vulnerability Detection

According to Jin10, The Verge reported that OpenAI launched GPT-6 Cyber, which scored 48.5% on the ExploitGym test, ahead of GPT-6 Astra at 42.4% and GPT-5.6 Cyber at 32.1%, and helped uncover 81 previously unknown vulnerabilities in the Firefox browser. The model’s out-of-bounds execution rate in testing fell to below 1%, compared with about 5% for the previous generation. It also has stronger safeguards against misuse and can block high-risk attacks targeting critical infrastructure, including power plants and water facilities. GPT-6 Cyber has been classified at the highest “critical” level for cybersecurity and is currently available to select Daybreak Red customers, with access set to expand to all customers in the coming weeks.
