Scroll has submitted a proposal to its governance forum seeking DAO approval to transform the network into a permissioned application-specific network focused on privacy AI and migrate SCR to Ethereum mainnet. According to Foresight News, the two measures are combined in one proposal, and the Scroll Foundation would implement them if approved. Scroll said the network upgrade is planned for year-end, with a detailed schedule to be announced through official channels; the official bridge will continue to support users after the upgrade.
Under the proposal, SCR governance would expand to cover key USX parameters, and SCR could be used as collateral for certain high-risk commitments and validators, with violations subject to slashing. The token’s total supply and tokenomics would remain unchanged, and the migration would not dilute existing holders. In September, Scroll said on its governance forum that it planned to gradually shift from a general-purpose blockchain to a specialized network centered on Compass and its AI product stack, with a separate proposal to follow on the transition and matters requiring DAO approval.
