AI TRENDS | South Korea and AMD Hold Follow-Up Talks on AI Chip Cooperation

South Korea's government and AMD held a steering committee meeting in Seoul on Wednesday to discuss their AI chip cooperation agreement, signed earlier this year. According to Sina Finance, South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT said the meeting followed a memorandum of understanding signed in July, under which the parties agreed to work on an AI research center and heterogeneous computing infrastructure connecting different AI chips. AMD also held its “Advancing AI World Tour” technical event in Seoul for the first time, attracting about 1,300 preregistered attendees. South Korean companies, including LG Electronics, which partnered with AMD on AI computing infrastructure, also took part.
