U.S. President Donald Trump Says He May Use Veto if Democrats Win Congress

On November 3, as voting continued in the U.S. midterm elections, U.S. President Donald Trump said he might use presidential vetoes if Democrats made gains and won control of Congress. According to Odaily, Trump said in an interview that repeated vetoes over several months could lead Democrats to seek a bipartisan agreement. Trump also said he might expand his use of executive power if Democrats tried to limit his authority through Congress. He said he had campaigned for Republican candidates across the country in recent weeks and argued that his efforts had made the races more competitive after the possibility of a Democratic “blue wave.”
