Binance Warns of Scams During Gradual Withdrawal Restoration

Binance announced on X that withdrawals are being restored in stages and warned users about scams that may impersonate Binance through direct messages, email, group chats or memos attached to small transfers. Scammers may offer to “speed up withdrawals,” “prioritize processing” or provide “compensation,” or ask users to move assets to a purported “Binance vault.” Binance said it will never contact users to ask about their accounts or funds; sell priority places in a withdrawal queue; charge fees to unlock a network or asset; or ask users to connect a wallet, sign or authorize an action, or transfer funds to unlock withdrawals. It also will not ask users to send assets to a “vault,” “secure account,” custodial wallet or address provided by another person; send links for “eligibility verification,” “status checks” or “compensation claims”; request passwords, 2FA codes or seed phrases; direct users to unofficial sites to check proof of reserves (PoR); or offer paid asset-recovery services. Connecting a wallet or signing or authorizing an unknown request may give a third party access to or control over assets. Malicious authorizations or transactions may put assets at risk of theft, and on-chain transactions are generally irreversible. Users whose withdrawals are still processing should check their status in the Binance app and distrust anyone offering paid acceleration, priority processing or another way to complete a withdrawal early. Binance advised users to get updates through its official app and channels and verify channels, accounts or websites through its official verification page. Users who receive suspicious messages should not click links or follow instructions and should verify them through official Binance channels. Anyone who suspects an account has been compromised should change the password, review account security settings and contact official support through the Binance app.
