The ENS community has opened voting on a proposal to update Governor Nexus. According to Foresight News, voting will end on November 3. The proposal asks the DAO to approve an update built on OpenZeppelin v5.6.1 to address risks identified in a governance security assessment. If approved, MetaGov will fund an external audit, after which an executable migration proposal will be submitted.
The proposed changes include setting voting delays by proposal type, with a two-day delay for migration proposals; limiting each proposer to two active proposals at a time, adjustable from one to 10; allowing voters to change their votes before the deadline; and extending the voting period by 48 hours if a proposal flips from failing to passing in its final 24 hours. It also introduces Standard, Optimistic, and Bond proposal types. Optimistic proposals pass unless opposed by 500,000 ENS, while Bond proposals require a 1,000 ENS deposit. The update would also support batch voting and ERC-1271 signatures.
