Binance Futures to End Last Price Protected Period for ONEUSDT Perpetual Contract

According to the announcement from Binance, Binance Futures will end the Last Price Protected period on the USDⓈ-Margined ONEUSDT Perpetual Contract at 2026-09-17 14:00 (UTC), with the Mark Price transitioning gradually from the LPP mechanism to standard Mark Price calculation. The transition period may take up to 3 hours, depending on price volatility and the availability of a stable index price. Binance said the change will be applied gradually through a mark price smoothing process to reduce sudden price movements and help maintain price stability during the transition. Trading will not be affected during this period, and open orders and positions will not be canceled. After the LPP period ends, the Mark Price will be calculated using the formula Median (Price 1, Price 2, Contract Price), with Price 1 and Price 2 determined by the formulas used for Mark Price and Price Index in USDⓈ-Margined Futures. The funding rate will also move to the standard perpetual futures contract rules once the LPP period ends. Binance also said the capped funding rate for the ONEUSDT perpetual contract will change from +0.005% / -0.005% to 2.00% / -2.00% at 2026-09-17 14:00 (UTC). The schedule shows the maximum funding rate at 2026-09-17 08:00 (UTC) remains +0.005% / -0.005%, before moving to +2.000% / -2.000% at 2026-09-17 16:00 (UTC), 2026-09-18 00:00 (UTC), and 2026-09-18 08:00 (UTC). Binance added that the funding interval will be adjusted from every four hours to every one hour when the previous funding rate settlement reaches +2.00% / -2.00%. The notice said Binance may adjust contract specifications from time to time, including funding fee, tick size, maximum leverage, initial margin, and maintenance margin requirements, based on market risk conditions.
