AI TRENDS | Musk Says Starship Could Put Up to 10 Million Tons Into Orbit Annually

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said Starship could eventually put 1 million to 10 million tons of payload into orbit each year as the company scales up operations. According to Sina Finance, he made the remarks on X on Wednesday while responding to a user who questioned why Europe would choose Italy's Avio and its solid-fuel rocket technology even as SpaceX plans to shift launch business to Starship over the long term. Musk said Starship can deliver 1 million to 10 million tons of payload to orbit annually. He also said that even if total orbital launch capacity outside SpaceX tripled, it would still be less than 0.1% of SpaceX's planned capacity, and added that the gap with air freight tonnage remains huge. He noted in March that Falcon 9 could put 1 million tons of payload into orbit when answering a question about the company's flagship rocket five years later.
