British Prime Minister Burnham is considering whether to help Saudi Arabia defend against attacks by Yemen's Houthi movement. According to Sina Finance, people familiar with the matter said Burnham has received a series of Saudi requests for diplomatic and military support.
The requests include operational support for Saudi forces to push back the Iran-backed group as it advances along Yemen's Red Sea coast toward the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, as well as help defending against attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure. It is unclear whether Burnham is willing to approve the requests, and the British government has not disclosed them. A spokesperson said Britain will work with partners to support regional stability.
