Canada is in talks with the European Union over support for a 90 billion euro Ukraine loan plan. According to Sina Finance, citing the Financial Times and people familiar with the matter, both sides want to finalize Canada's participation size before the European Union summit in Montreal at the end of October.
The exact contribution has not been disclosed, and the negotiations have not produced a final agreement. The European Council completed the legal framework for the 90 billion euro Ukraine support loan in April, with funds earmarked for Ukraine's budget and defense needs in 2026 and 2027.
