Micron said it will distribute fiscal 2026 rewards to more than 60,000 employees worldwide, describing the package as the largest in the company’s history. According to ChainCatcher, Taiwan is a key base for Micron’s global technology leadership, with about 15,000 employees and cumulative investment exceeding NT$1.6 trillion.
In Taiwan, the fiscal 2026 package includes a NT$1 million thank-you cash bonus for employees who joined on or before August 29, 2025, with later hires receiving a prorated amount. It also includes an annual performance bonus of up to 500% of the base target and additional stock awards. Micron’s Taiwan production-line employees will receive total compensation equivalent to 35 to 68 months of salary. Cash compensation for Micron Taiwan employees in fiscal 2026 will start at NT$1.7 million, while entry-level engineers will receive average cash compensation of NT$2.9 million and average total compensation of NT$3.4 million including stock awards valued at grant date.
The labor union said it had collected member feedback after Micron announced the package without reaching consensus with the union. It called for institutional reform and equal consultation, and said it wants the IPP bonus system changed to a 15% profit-sharing model. The union said a one-time bonus cannot solve the issue and wants a calculation basis directly linked to the company’s actual profits. If it does not receive a response, the union said it will continue moving toward a strike. Taiwan’s Ministry of Labor said it has fully grasped the situation and remains in close contact with the Taoyuan City Government, the Central Taiwan Science Park Administration, and the Taichung City Government.
