Alaska Boy Rescued After Days On Capsized Fishing Boat

According to the BBC, a 15-year-old boy was rescued after spending days on top of a capsized fishing boat in Alaska's Bering Sea, while his older brother and cousin died in the incident. The US Coast Guard said the trio left St Lawrence Island on Friday 4 September and were due back the following Sunday afternoon, but the 18-foot vessel did not return and a search was launched. A Coast Guard aircrew found the boy on Monday morning, and a nearby vessel pulled him to safety and recovered the bodies of the two relatives. The boy showed signs of hypothermia when rescued, and his mother said on Facebook that he is recovering at home.
