Shenyang Xingqi Eye Medicine Co. said on September 11, 2026 that it received China's National Medical Products Administration approval to begin clinical trials of SQ-23082 eye drops, according to Jiemian News. The drug is being developed to treat itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis and is classified as a Category 2.1 modified new chemical drug.
The company said it has completed pharmaceutical and non-clinical pharmacology and toxicology studies for SQ-23082 eye drops, and the results indicate good safety and clinical development value. It added that no marketed product of this ophthalmic formulation is currently available in China or overseas, and warned that drug development involves a long cycle and multiple stages, leaving trial progress and results uncertain.
