Murata has notified customers that it will gradually discontinue multiple multilayer ceramic capacitor products and urged them to place final orders before the cutoff dates. According to ChainCatcher, the move covers older products and part numbers across nine series, including GRM, GRJ, GRT, GXM, GXT, GCM, GCJ, GCG and ZRA, with applications spanning consumer electronics, industrial equipment and automotive markets.
Customers must complete the transition to substitute products by December 31, 2027. The last order date is March 31, 2028, and the last shipment date is March 31, 2029.
Market participants expect customers to shift to alternative suppliers after the affected part numbers are phased out, with Taiwanese makers Yageo, Walsin Technology, Holy Stone and Chilisin likely to receive redirected orders.
