Stablecoin issuer Circle said it will acquire Singapore-based cross-border payments infrastructure company Tazapay in a $400 million all-stock transaction. According to ChainCatcher, the companies signed the acquisition agreement on September 4, and the purchase price will be paid in Circle Class A shares, subject to adjustments for Tazapay's debt, transaction expenses, and cash position.
Circle said Tazapay brings more than $25 billion in annualized payment volume as of July 31, 2026, more than 60 banking and fintech partners, and local payment rails across more than 100 markets. According to ChainCatcher, more than 60% of Tazapay's transaction volume was already running on stablecoins as of July 31.
Tazapay has been a design partner for Circle's payments network since 2025. The deal is expected to close in 2027 and still requires regulatory approval, including from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Circle said Tazapay customers will not see changes to service, APIs, pricing, or support.
