STOCKS | ASML Starts Construction of New Eindhoven Campus

ASML started construction on its new Brainport Industries Campus North site in Eindhoven on September 8. According to Sina Finance, the Dutch lithography equipment maker said the project will be developed in phases, with total planned floor space of about 350,000 square meters. The first phase is scheduled for completion in 2029 and is expected to house at least 3,000 employees. ASML said the site will introduce a new production model for its TWINSCAN lithography systems and combine production, logistics, and office activities in one location. ASML said the full project could eventually support up to 20,000 jobs, depending on future business needs. The company did not disclose an investment amount and said the 20,000 figure should be understood as planned campus capacity rather than all-new hiring. Christophe Fouquet, ASML's president and chief executive officer, linked the expansion to growing demand in the global semiconductor industry. He said BIC North will add to the company's existing office and manufacturing capacity in the Brainport region. Eindhoven's city council approved the development plan in March, and local authorities later began land preparation, road work, and ecological support projects. ASML said the project also depends on expanded local infrastructure, including transport, power, housing, and talent supply.
