China's August passenger car retail sales top 10 were all new energy vehicles, with no traditional fuel models on the list, according to Jiemian News. Geely's Xingyuan ranked first with 39,651 retail sales, followed by Leapmotor's A10 at 30,652, Tesla's Model Y at 29,260, BYD's Yuan UP at 22,958, Tesla's Model 3 at 20,787, Changan Qiyuan's Q05 at 17,349, Li Auto's i6 at 16,979, BYD's Dolphin at 16,829, Xiaomi's SU7 at 16,518 and Wuling's Bingo Pro at 14,695. It was the second time this year that the top 10 were entirely new energy vehicles, after May, when fuel cars also failed to make the list. The China Passenger Car Association said August retail sales of passenger vehicles totaled 1.541 million, down 23.6% year on year and up 5.5% from July, while year-to-date retail sales fell 20.8% to 11.716 million. New energy vehicle retail sales reached 1.005 million in August, with a domestic penetration rate of 65.2%, up 9.9 percentage points from a year earlier. Passenger car exports, including complete vehicles and CKD kits, rose 77.8% year on year to 888,000 units, with new energy vehicles accounting for 58.4% of exports.
