The European Central Bank's two-day policy meeting and China's CPI and PPI data are expected to be the main market focus on Wednesday, according to ETNet.
The ECB Governing Council is holding a monetary policy meeting hosted by the Bundesbank through Thursday. At 7:50 am Hong Kong time, Japan will release August M2 and M3 money supply data. At 9:30 am, China will publish August consumer prices, with CPI inflation forecast to accelerate to 0.8% from 0.5%, while core CPI is expected to stay at 0.9%. Producer prices are forecast to rise 3.6% year on year, up from 3.5%. Japan will also release August machine tool orders at 2:00 pm.
In Hong Kong, Jiangnan Buyi (03306) is among the companies due to report results tomorrow. Zhaowei Machinery & Electric (02692) and Estun (02715) will also see cornerstone investor share lock-ups expire tomorrow.
