Powerchip, KYEC and Sigurd Report August Revenue Growth and Record Highs

Powerchip, KYEC and Sigurd all reported year-on-year and month-on-month revenue growth in August, with Powerchip and Sigurd posting record highs for the second straight month. According to ChainCatcher, Powerchip’s August consolidated revenue reached NT$8.558 billion, up 3.48% from July and 24.46% from a year earlier, while cumulative revenue for the first eight months rose 30.83% year on year to NT$61.258 billion. KYEC reported August revenue of NT$4.08 billion, up 2.23% month on month and 31.58% year on year, with first-eight-month revenue climbing 35.53% to NT$29.404 billion. Sigurd posted August revenue of NT$2.07 billion, up nearly 3% from July and nearly 29% from a year earlier, while cumulative revenue for the first eight months increased more than 20% to NT$15.26 billion. Powerchip said its main growth driver this year remains recovering demand for memory packaging and testing. The company previously expected third-quarter revenue to rise by a single-digit percentage from the previous quarter and said fourth-quarter revenue could exceed third-quarter levels, with memory order momentum likely to continue through year-end and market conditions expected to improve in early next year. Beyond its memory business, Powerchip said advanced packaging is a key focus for its next stage of development. Its panel-level packaging has been adopted by a U.S. customer, and the customer has booked capacity at its P11 plant. The company plans to enter mass production of AI chips integrating ASIC and HBM in mid-2027. KYEC has been expanding high-end testing capacity in recent years, with AI-related products becoming an important driver of operations. Demand for testing AI GPUs, ASICs and high-performance computing chips remains a major source of growth. Sigurd said strong demand for AI and high-speed interconnect products, including CPUs, GPUs, ASICs and AI accelerators, is boosting orders. The company said its newly acquired Hukou facility completed cleanroom construction in February, began mass production in July, and is now operating at 40% of total capacity.
