According to the BBC, Arm Holdings chief executive Rene Haas said artificial intelligence will help find a cure for cancer in his lifetime and could lead to widespread humanoid robots within five years. He said AI is still too complex to model cancer at the level of cells and DNA markers, but argued that more advanced systems will eventually solve the problem.
Haas also said Arm’s chip designs are already used in half of AI data centers worldwide and that demand for the company’s Arm AGI chip has topped more than $2 billion since its March launch. He said shortages of chips are slowing the rollout of AI and data centers, while adding that he does not think chip manufacturing needs to move to the UK. Haas also said fears of mass AI-driven job losses and a correction in AI stocks are overstated.
