Jiemian News reported that Shanghai High People's Court has disclosed a hearing notice showing that former BOC Securities fund manager Ji Wei has sued his former employer over a labor contract dispute. The case is scheduled to be heard on October 19, 2026, at the Pudong New Area People's Court in Shanghai.
Ji joined BOC Securities in October 2019 and was once head of its ETF investment team. He left all funds under management on September 5, 2025, citing resignation. The article said his ETF products delivered mixed results, while several actively managed products posted losses, including BOC Securities Ruiyi Flexible Allocation Mixed A, which returned -38.18% during his tenure. Before joining BOC Securities, Ji had worked at Huaan Fund and Huian Fund, where he previously managed Huian Fengze A with a 52.14% tenure return.
The article also said BOC Securities reported stronger first-half 2026 results, with revenue up 27.7% year on year to 1.922 billion yuan and net profit attributable to shareholders up 32.05% to 746 million yuan. Its total assets rose 37.08% to 127.377 billion yuan. However, the firm’s public fund business remained heavily tilted toward fixed income: as of the second quarter of 2026, stock and mixed funds together accounted for only 3.12% of total assets under management, while bond funds and money market funds dominated the portfolio.
