US Treasury Yields Hold Steady Ahead of Nonfarm Payrolls and Unemployment Data

U.S. Treasury yields edged lower on Friday as investors awaited the latest nonfarm payrolls and unemployment data. According to Sina Finance, the 10-year Treasury yield held at 4.7541%, the 2-year yield stayed at 4.3390%, and the 30-year yield was at 5.2328%. Traders are watching the August nonfarm payrolls report and unemployment rate, due at 8:30 a.m. U.S. Eastern Time. Economists expect August nonfarm payrolls to rise by 56,000, after July unexpectedly fell by 23,000, while the unemployment rate is expected to remain unchanged at 4.2%. The report also said U.S. private employers added 38,000 jobs in August, below the market forecast of 47,000. Investors are also focused on a series of inflation data due next week for clues on the Federal Reserve's September 15-16 policy meeting. U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Thursday publicly called on the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, saying it would help improve housing affordability.
