Industry data released on Friday showed that Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix remained the top two players in the global NAND flash memory market in the second quarter of this year. According to Sina Finance, citing Counterpoint Research, global NAND market sales rose 70% quarter on quarter from April to June, driven mainly by higher prices, after a 90% quarter-on-quarter increase in the first quarter.
Samsung Electronics kept the No. 1 spot in the second quarter with a 28% market share, while SK Hynix ranked second with 19%. Micron Technology placed third with 15%, and Yangtze Memory Technologies reported higher-than-expected revenue in the period, with a 14% share that tied it for fourth place with Kioxia.
