The European Commission has unveiled a plan to give companies with market-dominant positions more room to operate if they help strengthen the EU's resilience. According to Sina Finance, European supply chains are facing greater pressure from overseas threats.
As part of a review of strict guidance on antitrust rules, EU regulators said companies accused of abusing market dominance, such as charging excessive prices, could defend themselves by showing their conduct supports policy goals including public health, product safety, or resistance to supply shocks. EU competition chief Teresa Ribera said in a statement that the guidance provides clear and predictable legal boundaries for companies operating in Europe.
