According to Sina Finance, the U.S. Solar Energy Industries Association and Benchmark Mineral Intelligence said U.S. new energy storage installations reached 20.2 GWh in the second quarter of 2026, with about 6.7 GW of continuous output, a record quarterly high for the market.
First-half additions totaled 30.8 GWh, up 23% year over year, while cumulative U.S. storage capacity reached 165 GWh at the end of the quarter. The report also said quarterly growth was about 108% from the previous quarter, and that more than 74% of new Q2 installations were in states that voted for the Republican candidate in the 2024 election.
