Bitdeer Technologies Group said it has acquired about 200 acres of undeveloped land in Milam County, Texas, in an all-cash deal worth about $100 million. According to ChainCatcher, the site is adjacent to the company’s existing Rockdale operations and will support the development of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructure.
The purchase gives Bitdeer full ownership of the land, removing lease renewal risk and providing site control for financing and development of high-density data centers. After the transaction, Bitdeer’s total land area in central Milam County rises to about 255 acres.
The property is located in an area with established power interconnection infrastructure and currently has about 563 megawatts of grid-connected power capacity. Bitdeer said planned expansion would lift total capacity to 742 megawatts.
The company said the new site will be used to build a dedicated AI/HPC data center without affecting its existing Bitcoin mining operations. Following the expansion, Bitdeer said its global power pipeline across North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa totals about 3.0 gigawatts.
