Utah Judge Allows Murder Case Against Charlie Kirk Suspect to Proceed

A Utah judge on Tuesday ruled that the murder case against the man accused of killing political commentator Charlie Kirk can proceed, and that the charges brought by prosecutors could make the suspect eligible for the death penalty. According to Sina Finance, the judge said prosecutors had provided sufficient probable cause to support an aggravated murder charge against Tyler Robinson, who is accused of shooting Kirk at an outdoor event on a university campus a year ago. Robinson, 23, could face the death penalty if convicted and has not yet entered a plea. The ruling was issued by Tony F. Graf, a judge in Utah County's Fourth District Court. A weeklong hearing was held in July, during which prosecutors presented evidence against Robinson, including surveillance video that they said showed his movements on the Utah Valley University campus on the day of the shooting.
