According to the BBC, overnight Russian missile and drone strikes on Kyiv and the wider region killed at least 12 people and injured 20, including two children, officials said. Six of the dead were railway workers from state-owned Ukrzaliznytsia after a depot was hit in Kyiv, while another four people were killed in the nearby town of Boryspil when a residential building was struck. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said nearly 350 rescue workers had been operating through the night after Russia fired a significant number of jet drones and ballistic missiles. Russia said its massive strike using high-precision weapons targeted Ukraine's military and energy facilities, and said one person was also killed in Ukrainian strikes on Russia's western Belgorod region. Separately, a drone attack hit the major Russian Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga and triggered a fire, according to Leningrad regional Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko.
